you can be maximally long the tech and still skeptical of the price of admission on a given opp. folks who bought Cisco at 200x in Mar-2000 were right about the internet (traffic grew > than even bulls projected) and still lost 85%. right about the tech != right about the surplus for a time of such abundant intelligence there sure is a lot of logical failure

Our entire experience of reality is mediated by electrical activity in the brain. I’m inspired by BCI becoming increasingly, backable engineering, pulled forward by AI: models we interact with, translation architectures, and predictors of how perturbations reshape experience. as @maxhodak_ has said, we need companies in the space to generate hundreds of millions of revenue, and that will open the floodgates of investor capital required to aim at the really long term goals

the more you believe in meritocracy vs victimhood, the more the world works in your favor

yes, markets/risk management lessons to be learned, but many of the folks dunking on Leopold have never realized a dollar of returns. he has, and now he’s banked them. respect where due

Strong agree. The trend of calling every challenge a “disorder” weakens the ability to face those challenges and flourish https://t.co/sWOa58oqMb from @clayroutledge in today’s NYTOpinion

A very wise company had this philosophy of never advocating for regulations good for us but bad for the world Good time to resubscribe to it (per @lachygroom)

There is a Cambrian explosion happening im robotics. Betting early on a technical domain you love with @conviction is an enormous opportunity. When we started investing four years ago, we felt people were not tinkering nearly enough with ai models. Today, not enough people are not tinkering enough with AI in the physical world! This is beginning to change — we have portfolio companies that use right-sized Jetsons for many use cases. A rich ecosystem in the physical AI supply chain is going to arm the builders. Fun to do this with the set of true believers at Nvidia Robotics!

Great write up on technical innovations in Kimi3 that all can use baseten “intern” remains based

we @conviction backed founders @j0nathanj and @galnivs incredible intensity, ambition, and technical depth, rather than a particular idea we’ve since seen the team they’ve recruited continually recognize the most interesting hills and take them on, from architectural innovation around data efficiency of models, to building missing infrastructure for the robotics ecosystem, to letting interface design inform research, to (most recently) outfitting a warehouse with HVAC and power for 100 robots at blitz speed congrats to @Enigma_AI on their launch today — let’s help the world get https://t.co/CRn4ULyW2C (try for yourself!)

Andy/Stanley: next, I expect sushi to be magicked by DoorDash Dot, then robot-chopsticked into my mouth the moment I think I feel hungry

$DASH's founders have made an 8-year bet in autonomy, with a purpose-built robot (Dot) AND a big bet in agentic commerce, with "Ask Doordash" massively changing food discovery as a power eater, was fun to speak w/@andyfang @stanleytang about hidden demand, why you have to make contact with physical reality to do robotics, and what you learn from 3B deliveries

really incredible effort by @maxhodak_ and team @ScienceCorp_ we can cure blindness! medicine becomes engineering

@SaiMandhan one of my favorite things about technology is that mostly people just take you at face value. really extraordinary (high profile, repeat) founders did not care about my age or pedigree. they cared about quality of ideas and work and what would move the needle for their businesses

guys, napoleon had it right and these days it’s just as important to get (Canadian) Waterloo as an aside, the man should have pursued the Prussians faster, kept his forces concentrated, attacked Wellington earlier, and avoided wasteful assaults before the armies united “He will win who knows when to fight and when not to fight.”

who are you calling high key <strangled shrieking> I kiss a custom copy of “the art of the deal” every night before bed, smiling gently about the great coup that was convincing @mvernal to work with us cc: @igarciacamargo https://t.co/vuE16LNjfh

we gave @colossusmag a look at what @mvernal @pranavreddy @igarciacamargo me & team @conviction are trying to do — find and arm the most extraordinary founders at a moment when technology molds a malleable future feels like a mission! but yes, acting with belief is also a wager
