The betting market is reacting. --- Trump today (from the FT) Trump addressed the Fed selection with journalists on Air Force One, after the Financial Times reported the final round of meetings. “We’re going to be looking at a couple different people, but I have a pretty good idea of who I want,” the president said. Trump last month: On Nov 18, 2025, Trump said in the Oval Office, “I think I already know my choice,” when asked about who would replace Jerome Powell as Fed chair, while adding that he wanted Powell out but was being “held back.”​ Around the end of November and December 1, he reiterated on Air Force One that he knows who he is going to pick and that an announcement is coming, without confirming the name.
