It's important to realize that technology, innovation, & capitalism have been the key drivers of improvements in human prosperity & increases in standards of living. Leo XIII was dead-wrong, and its a good thing he was not successful in blocking progress.

I don't know why you need to point to "nefarious accounts" to understand AI backlash. The founder of the leading model company just flew to Europe to hold a press conference with the Pope & said all the same negative things. The caller is in the house.
A wonderfully pragmatic look at the US/China AI race. Very unrealistic & dangerous to project "the next 12 months" are an all-or-nothing bet on the future of the world. https://t.co/3ELCPFhl9g
Here comes Google.... Maybe western "open" leadership still a possibility... https://t.co/P8rbKhHLK9
Important watch. Thomas Kane at Harvard is doing amazing work collecting annual data that can help drive improvement in US K-12 education. Many problems. Some bright spots.
Application process for the Runnin' Down a Dream grants, is now live. Almonds should cost $100 a package.
These people have no idea how IPOs are actually allocated. Top 15 clients of the investment bank get most of the shares. And have a strong voice in dictating price. It could EASILY be a blind auction (direct listing) but alas it’s a captured insider’s game. The “customer” is the buy-side. Plain and simple.
Everyone knows that we need price-transparency in the US healthcare system. Solv is leveraging AI to make this a reality. More here.
A new @bgurley blog post! I have been thinking about how sophisticated executives are using open source in super creative ways. Started writing this three years ago. Excited to finish it up and publish it! And with the new @p3institute brand. https://t.co/W84vODq1ME https://t.co/T0r5OOHwRj

Once Exxon and Dell do it, its no longer a "fad" or something "unusual" companies do. If you are on a public board, re-domiciling can protect your shareholders from ambulance chasers & outsized decisions (see data). Simply smart & good governance. You should take it seriously.
Runnin' Down a Dream started as a talk, became a book, & is now a foundation. We want to help people that need a boost to chase their dreams. New website: https://t.co/ktFT95hSRE $5K grants for people that yearn to follow their fascination. Applications open in a few weeks. A few colleges have approached us about building a course based on the book. Exciting! We will do a pilot with a few, and are open to adding more. Reach out to jess@rdad.org w/ interest. Also plan to use this as funnel for foundation grants.
As they add ads to LLMs this will be an even bigger problem. Creates an opportunity for a trusted LLM brand that can deliver on customer value. Maybe it has to be a subscription.
Great read. Amazing details.
I have to tell you @andrewdfeldman, in front of that pit you could easily be confused with the one and only Aaron Franklin.
Super important read regarding K-12 education. I think it’s a serious crisis. The chronic absenteeism and plunging results beg for a major change. The status quo is the one option that should be “off the table.” This was article referenced... https://t.co/uQGqZKLl60
This is worth watching. See how the best in the business are evolving in our new world.
Originally locked behind a book purchase. Releasing it now as I pivot to P3. @danwwang (Breakneck) & @PatrickMcGee_ (Apple in China) on China — engineering state, supply chain capture, and what it means for U.S. @p3institute https://t.co/eYEg95ORpN
I’m fascinated by state vs state competition. Shedding a light on best practice & fully recognizing people choose where they live will help improve the country. As Madison argued early on; open experimentation & mobility. Programs in both Vietnam & India are showing results.
“China-based solar companies had made cumulative net losses of around $5bn since the start of 2024.” If that’s ‘dumping’ what are American AI companies doing? They will each will lose more than that this year alone.
Today is the release date for @DavidEpstein great new book "Inside the Box." Many wonder what the secret is to driving innovation, especially at the company level. The answers are in here! Must read. https://t.co/GlLq7ONKEG Get it here --> https://t.co/FvVqA3ZBgN
We all know with certainty that AI will drastically reduce the costs of corporate auditing. This cost-reduction already widespread in legal. One problem - the big 4 are holding the line, telling clients despite AI, we are not lowering rates. Curious how this lands. The "task" is way cheaper. Will one of the "next three" start disrupting with price? Will the PCAOB circle ranks in an ugly act of regulatory capture? I'm watching with interest. Any predictions? I think someone with great auditing AI should try to create a competitor vs. selling to them.
That's really cool. Congrats @nealmohan !!
I think everyone in marketing/PR at an AI company (& especially at large model companies) should watch this short piece of advice from @dylan522p w/ @patrick_oshag. Just a few minutes. Crisp and to the point. https://t.co/huyZK750Gq
