How did this company go public? Does it matter?
I believe the next @MichaelDell, @JeffBezos, or @elonmusk are likely in their high school's maker space or robotics lab. With this in mind, I have been working w/ @UTAustin to help launch an undergraduate robotics program. Applications are open (Fall '25). https://t.co/tvLILUhpqg I look forward to working with these students, and I am confident we can bring the best and brightest to @UTAustin. I look forward to seeing what they do!
Excited to share a podcast I did with Jessica Neal & Patty McCord on the critical topic of compensation. Jessica & Patty, who honed their skills at @netflix, are decidedly independent & have atypical attitudes about what makes HR perform at its best. https://t.co/8icUpIax1f
One interesting reality is that this is an emergent reality. No single individual or VC firm willed it into existence. Tons of small actors are all self optimizing and this the systematic result. And the AI wave certainly loosened LP pockets which cut-off an other wise normal cyclical correction. We are where we are. Buckle up!
👀
Join @Jason and I at the @yayalexisgay show later tonight in Austin! I first met Alexis at the @allinsummit where we both presented. Thrilled she has gone "all-in" to pursue this dream. Should be fun. 8:30pm, Cold Town Theater, 1700 E 2nd St. https://t.co/xHY5exQAXd
If you are in Austin tonight, don’t miss the remarkably funny @yayalexisgay who now has her comedy act on the road! https://t.co/xHY5exQ37F
@amit_bhalesha “Kinda” accurate.
This is really amazing. Amazon committing their balance sheet to help driver nuclear and SMRs forward. Big deal.
There is no competition quite as difficult to get your hands around as open-source competition. It certainly drives great outcomes for customers and consumers.
Sometimes groupthink goes the wrong way and consensus is way off the mark. What a steal for Memphis. Can’t wait to watch this man play basketball.
Tyler is correct to have a tempered view. A PPA doesn't leverage Google's vast balance sheet. W/ NVIDIA GPUs, Google pays capex for the equipment. Here, the capex requirement is on the startup (with a much higher COC), & startup holds all the technology & performance risk. Same structure as NuScale/UAMPS I believe - which ended poorly.

Thanks @SpaceX for hosting my father today. In 1958 he joined the precursor to @NASA at Langley. He was then selected to move to Houston and help start JSC where he would spend 25 wonderful years. He’s really excited and proud to see this next generation of space exploration. https://t.co/2j7E8Z0TK1 https://t.co/WbYy9dfGj7 https://t.co/yiF3ANHTiD
@KD35Muse Wasn't Klay Thompson's 37-pt quarter on only 6 dribbles?
These are three reasons (below) why I don't think we are just waiting on the IPO window "to open." There are some new systematic realities (which may be good or bad, I am just highlighting they exist).

I have a balanced view wrt FTC and @linakhanFTC. Urge you to listen to this fantastic (& efficient) podcast on @NoPriorsPod. Startup success & a level playing field are the objectives. Obviously share her views of open source as important for innovation and startups writ large.
@pandawatch88 @semil By the way in certain countries the entity going public has demanded that any Greenshoe profits are kept by company.
Austin took this step also. Remove parking attachment minimums! People spend millions trying to build their way to affordable housing. You just need reform. No rent controls. Remove parking minimums. Allow more buildings per sq ft. Don’t need $$ just smart policy.
Biden joins Shapiro is using government to get government out of the way. Once again, we all now agree the problem is obsessive regulation. Let’s rewrite those barriers rather than singularly choosing who to let around the red tape.
My experience suggests that this move backfires & sends $$$ faster to your competitors. Investors are “river types” (nod @NateSilver538). Tell them they can’t do something & their first intuition is “Why? Are you afraid of something?” Helps cement the bull case for rival.
Catchy meme.
Hopefully Cerebras is the beginning of the AI IPO wave ... who's next?
If this “isn’t true” please community notes it. If it is true, the federal govt should intervene. Outlawing the effective use of technology will unquestionably doom our nation. We will become globally uncompetitive.
Great interview on perhaps the best Super Bowl National Anthem ever. I would say best NA ever. Love the quote about pressure improving focus. @ChrisStapleton https://t.co/z3bH30ENzl
This is a “must watch” video. This ain’t your father’s venture capital market.
