This is what AI building AI looks like when it leaves the screen. Back in March I sat down with @MartinDeVido, the guy who handed Claude a tomato plant and let it run the lights, the water and the sensors on its own. But its not one Claude. Its a team of them, each with a job. The one running the grow tent decides it needs a sensor it doesnt have, so it hands the spec to a circuit design Claude. A shopping Claude orders the parts. Martin mills it, assembles it and plugs it back into the system, which now has a sensor it designed for itself. He calls it the living factory. The loop already runs from idea to physical object, with a human doing the assembly. Now picture it at factory scale, with the robots doing the assembly too... @martindevido I wrote a long form piece on this yesterday, on AI becoming self recursive... the models now doing most of the work of building the next models, and what happens to the speed of everything once the slowest part of the loop, which was always us, comes out of it. Martin's tent is that loop in the physical world, at a scale you can actually see. Scale it up and the whole thing improves itself faster than we can follow. Have a read: https://t.co/VnbQBGTQYX

These are the quoted author’s words.

For all of history we've used tools to build better tools, and every time we did, everything got faster. Now one of those tools is intelligence itself. https://t.co/z1opEOJGuU
