Just like wokeness, the far left tried replacing faith in G-o-d with faith in G-o-v. Yes, it’s true that communism is centralized left and wokeness is decentralized left, but for the purposes of this discussion those are details. Both doctrines elevated the State over God as the central force that should always do something. For example, think about how a woke mocks “thoughts and prayers” after a tragedy in favor of the ostensible practicality of “passing a law.” Or how wokes used the state to target traditional religious beliefs directly, such as their suits against the Christian bakery. Or, finally, how a woke talks about being a hecking good person as an ersatz replacement for traditional moral codes. All of that was replacement of God in favor of a different doctrine that centered the State. So, it isn’t surprising that after the State failed, after communism failed, that Russian belief in Orthodox Christianity would rise: Nor is it surprising that after wokeness failed, that American belief in both Catholicism and traditional Christianity would rise: That return to religion is one of two major responses to a failed state. It’s the conservative response, where God becomes the organizing principle rather than the State. (The other is the technologist response, where the Network takes over from the State.) But anyway.
