I just read another unredacted email showing that former IRS-CI Chief Jim Lee, on the morning he spoke at the press conference announcing the closure of my bank, still had no idea what the bank had actually done to facilitate tax evasion or money laundering. So, until the day of the press conference, he had no idea that the bank was completely innocent and that the entire press conference was a publicity stunt. He asked Justin Cole, the IRS-CI communications director, for two brief examples of what the bank had done to help its customers evade taxes or launder money. The answer is redacted, but I know for a fact that Cole could not come up with even one example because he knew the bank had done nothing wrong.
