A lot of ppl are straining their imaginations to come up with coherent rationales for Warsh's vagaries and inconsistencies. But they can't. Warsh is in the same basic trap as every other Trump appointee: he has to get cute and evasive with the verbiage to try to find a path between reality and angering Trump. Unless Warsh gets bailed out by inflation prints in the coming months (entirely possible) he will soon be forced to choose. Good on @SteveMatthews12, @greg_ip, @NickTimiraos, @steveliesman who are pointing this out.
