Creating a patch-work quilt of state by state AI laws is about the worse outcome possible for US AI regulation. Loads of instant red-tape and overhead. Anti innovation. Will help guarantee China runs past us. I’m shocked this is happening.

Quoted context

These are the quoted author’s words.

We now have even more algorithmic discrimination bills from states, all AI Act-esque, all following the same template as Texas/Colorado (almost as if they are coordinating). They are: New Mexico (HB60) Massachusetts (HD396) They join Texas (HB1709), Virginia (HB 2094), Connecticut (SB2), New York (A00768), California (agency rules), and Colorado (SB205, passed into law last year). There will be more.
