This reminds me of when Palantir released AIP. If you remember, there were lots of questions about Palantir growth in 2023 or thereabouts. They launched AIP and allowed LLMs to run over their ontologies. It lit a fire in their business and it’s been a rocket ship ever since. This is a similar product evolution. We have started to use it at 8090 and it’s pretty awesome.

“We must slow the pace at which we improve the capabilities of AI models.” Dario makes the case to stop open source and concentrate enormous technological and economic power with Anthropic. https://t.co/ILhs01iQ8u

Gurley from the top rope... As we've stated many times before, I think the appropriate reaction here is to calm down and carry on. Things will be amazing, let's get there together.

Hi guys, I’m going to start a company. It will be important. But it will also suck. It will be valuable. But will leave death and destruction in its wake. It will be transformational. But it will destroy society as we know it. So bottom line, please buy my company’s product. You can count on us! Thank you. https://t.co/XCXXdRDKlV

Innovation and economic growth are inversely correlated to federal bureaucracy. So this is a very good sign for future innovation and economic expansion.

I turn 50 today. This is a message to my kids but I offer it to you in case any of it rings useful. I was born in Sri Lanka in 1976 in a country that, at the time, was about to enter a decades long civil war. My father was able to get stationed at the Sri Lankan High Commission in Canada for four years in the early 80s - when some of the fighting was most severe - and which from our vantage point in Canada gave us some respite from an otherwise omnipresent conflict. He came as a diplomat but then my father filed for refugee status after four years when his life was threatened by militants. We stayed in Canada as refugees. My dad never reall…

This will turn out to be a very consequential and important acquisition in AI It is increasingly clear that the future of AI will be ultra capable and ultra cheap sources of intelligence tokens. Huggingface can help Nvidia accelerate this inevitability for the industry. This also allows Nvidia to have another competitive piece on the chess board. As the hyperscalers keep moving down (spinning their own silicon), Nvidia moves up. Game on!

CloudBees surveyed 200+ enterprise technology leaders this year. 92% said they were confident their AI-generated code was production-ready before it shipped. Then after it shipped, 81% of those same people reported a rise in production issues. Confidence in AI output is now a measurable risk factor. A board can put the 92% "confidence in AI generated code" against the 81% "production issue rate" and really understand what is going on. Is it a bunch of unregulated tokenmaxxing? Or is there a plan and is it working? The report itself says that the bottleneck has moved from writing code to governing it. We agree. 8090 Software Factory gets a…

Whenever you are told “Trust the experts” you are better off doing the opposite. Remember when Covid “Trust the experts” led to a civilizational hoax that broke our economy and retarded our children? The AI “Trust the experts” version will make that pale in comparison. I’d encourage all of you to approach this with wonder but also a healthy dose of skepticism.

BUYER BEWARE This extremely meticulous article will now be used to start Phase2 of “shut down open source” because “if we can’t control our closed models, imagine what happens to everyday life when anyone can just allow their open source models to proliferate”. Some will use this example and point to future grid outages, utility outages, transportation chaos, bioweapons, uncontrolled cyber swarms and the like to try and make the case for yet another attempt to limit US AI model control to a few folks. Then, one layer beneath the propaganda, one sees that these things are always written and promoted by a web of well organized existing share…
