As Elon says, fate loves irony…
One down, one to go… 🙏🏽 To be clear, this is just a wild ass guess and my daydream of what happens…
It doesn’t matter how fast your code is generated if the requirements are unclear. Shit in == shit out. That’s why we designed Software Factory as a discipline, not as a convenience tool. Our agents scrutinize your requirements and designs so that when you pass that context to a coding agent, it delivers as expected. Try it here: https://t.co/fkfTXgdfXK Measure twice, cut once…

What I read this week... 1) Neuralink has officially expanded its human clinical trials to 21 participants worldwide, marking a significant jump from the 12 reported late last year. The focus has shifted from basic cursor control to "Telepathy" for patients with ALS and spinal cord injury. “There were moments I realized, oh, this is a much bigger deal than I thought… [the Neuralink] is not only able to follow along, but it may also anticipate what you want to do next just a little bit faster than you can think it.” - Noland, the first human to receive a Neuralink implant New data shows that signal quality has improved in 18 of the 20 most …

One very fast way to catch up to China on this chart is to create a massive tax equity fund that pays for every US homeowner to have their own solar + storage. 1. We would add back 2-3 TWh to the grid and the chart below would quickly look like the US and China were neck and neck. 2. Homeowners no longer have electricity bills. 3. The companies that pay into the tax equity fund are simply paying in a dollar they would otherwise pay in taxes - making it costless for them. The time has come for this top-down moonshot on domestic energy.
A merger between SpaceX and Tesla would instantly create the Berkshire Hathaway of the modern century. The capital raising and operational efficiencies if both were together are obvious. If this were to happen, it would also bring us one step closer to having one equity instrument for all things Elon which many would want to buy.
Just let me buy $ELON.
A Primer on Quantum Computing
The perception of quantum computing has oscillated between two extremes: it is either treated as distant science fiction or marketed as an all-purpose supercomputer posing an imminent threat to modern security and encryption. The reality is less dramatic, more constrained, but yet still important to understand accurately. Quantum Computing 101 To understand the potential promise of quantum computing, we need to start with the familiar: the classical computer sitting in front of you. Classical computers power virtually everything around us. At their core, classical computers store and process information using bits. A bit takes one of two…
is there a way to do a regression on doctor quality and mcat score? one could also look at malpractice claims vs mcat score as well...
This is a general comment about software companies: If you look across the software industry, you see record levels of RPO - these are future revenues that are tied to a performance obligation before you can recognize it and before a customer has to pay you. The problem with RPO is that AI can more easily attack and devour it - the more RPO you have and the more you are expected to work to earn it, the more incentive and time you’ve created for a low end AI disruptor to do that work for a customer. The point is that any valuation model that incorporates any discounted value of RPO may be on the high side and overestimating. The safest ass…
Never ending taxation and regulations are how governments create structural poverty in those they govern. Without capital or freedom, you become a serf who is completely reliant on their largesse.
This is total madness. Enough taxation. Please start by governing well and then demand we give you more money because you're doing such a good job. Asset seizures will only drive capital flight. Netherlands now joins California in the stupidity of its proposals.
The critical question is whether these decisions would stand up to scrutiny today based on everything we know. If not, this is really devious and should be reversed.
We taped this two weeks ago...first time Nat and I have done a pod together!
This is the 1 GW data center we are building in AZ. AI is responsible for 100-200bp of GDP over the next few years in America yet there are many misconceptions and misinformation. One important fact is that many data centers, including ours, pays our own way on energy. More below from my Partner on this project, Anita Verma.
Newsom and California keep endlessly raising taxes and then waste it to their cronies. At no point did they think to actually spend even a few cents of more than $350B PER YEAR on filling the water tanks?! Then comes the Palisades fire and guess what? The insurance companies are now suing the Government of California because they think California should pay...not them. If you were them, wouldn't you do the same? This is the price of incompetence and larceny by our government representatives in California. When will enough be enough??
gulp… https://t.co/NmRNvPhQKk With the right label… https://t.co/QkZOPij0yl
So good…
This is the first time Nat and I have ever been interviewed together!
Thought exercise: USA and China both win the AI race. Our AIs are roughly equally capable: what we can build, they can also build. Whatever next gen weapons we design, they can also design. This creates a detente where we each stick to our own hemispheres and leave each other alone. Each of us rely on a few countries for resources, know how and capital. Those chosen countries exclusively work with US or China but not both. Every other country in the world then becomes a vassal state of either the US or China. With no native AI or critical resources, they lobby to become a protectorate of one or the other. Huge shift in the global order …
hate when effective altruism rears its ugly head
I just spent 15 minutes on clawdbot at it saved me 15% on my car insurance.
Me too.
California is held captive by a handful of Machiavellian Union CEOs! These union organizers should have the courage to inform their dues-paying members that they are trying to torch the economy by destroying the tech community in California with this "Billionaire Tax". This will drive California into bankruptcy and ultimately decrease the earnings of their union members when the bottom falls out of the California economy and its budget.
You can identify all the greatest countries in the world by asking a simple question: "Is it cool to be rich there?" Countries that celebrate success and still have strong safety nets: Singapore, Denmark and Switzerland. Every country that has gotten the answer to this question wrong has become economically irrelevant and a vassal state of another. We should properly take care of everyone, but you need resources and leverage that only come in success. Many countries in Europe have become examples of not getting this right.
