“In 2026, AI is driving a 10x increase in the productivity of the individuals who know how to leverage it. But that’s not enough. We’ve swapped the motor; we have not yet redesigned the factory. Because of a simple fact: productive individuals do not make productive firms. The wide majority of AI products evoke the feeling of being productive, but they haven’t moved the needle on driving value. The majority of publicized AI use is individuals self-indulgently “productivity-maxxing” on Twitter or in company Slack channels, with zero real impact.” I couldn’t agree more. This is why we built Software Factory. Try it here: https://t.co/fkfT…

@RoKhanna is an idiot. But when you arrogantly assume your seat is a lock, you think you can get away with being an idiot. He deserves to lose this upcoming election. He’s a terrible representative of Silicon Valley.

The next phase of AI silicon is all about cheap, abundant decode. Groq was just the appetizer…This paper is a very good guide.

I think there is something important going on here that is worth figuring out: 1) most models overfit to evals. that said, we need some evals to tell a model if they are good bullshit detectors before we go off and burn a bunch of money on returning nonsense 2) there needs to be an awareness of sycophancy and generally being agreeable isn't always the best thing 3) i think using a mixture of llms and humans to judge would be valuable

A new @HooverInstitution study confirms what I’ve been saying for months. The CA Billionaire Tax has a negative NPV of -$24.7B. Meaning if this gets on the ballot and is approved in November, California doesn’t just collect less than promised, it actually LOSES money. This was dreamed up by SEIU-UHW to solve a healthcare funding problem that should have been solved by our politicians reducing waste, fraud and abuse in our state budget. Of course they chose to do nothing. Now it has blown up the state’s most reliable tax base. 71% of all 100,000 modeled scenarios = negative NPV and someone will have to pay for that -$24.7B hole. Who do you…

100% in California would support competent politicians who didn’t plunder our state budget of hundreds of billions. PS - state pensions are bankrupt and they are hiding it from you.

Here is what a tax like this does: 1) It excites people with zero agency and infinite envy. Beware of these people. 2) It will keep middle class people firmly in the middle class with no real chance of getting wealthy if they stay in Washington State. It should be clear that this IS the strategy. Learned helplessness of the electorate will keep Washington State’s current elected officials in office. 3) It will never allow the upwardly mobile of building any assets or real wealth unless they move. Capping the American Dream is a dystopian and malevolent scheme. It cannot be a valid strategy. But unless droves of middle and upper middle cl…

As coding agents start compiling English into code, the definition of WHAT to build becomes the highest leverage work. That means teams need to collaborate deeply on requirements. Some people write specs as markdown in Git repositories. But that isn’t a collaborative environment. PMs aren’t living in IDEs or PRs. Software Factory brings a Cursor-like agent experience into a multiplayer document editor. If you’ve wondered why Google Docs never built a true, agent-driven editor: it’s extremely hard. We just shipped one. Try it here: https://t.co/fkfTXgcI8c

Right now we are in the phase where CEOs need to have an AI talking point. This has meant CIOs doing what they know best: bloat their IT budget and tell the CEO they are “on it”. The CEO then has a well crafted talking point that appears in the press and at conferences. But for most, the dots haven’t been connected. A reckoning is coming - and when it does, it will be about measurable progress and improvement to a company’s underlying margins using and because of AI. This is what 8090’s Software Factory is helping Fortune 1000 companies do. We have some huge announcements to this effect coming up. Try it here: https://t.co/fkfTXgdfXK

Most usage of Software Factory are by companies solving their own problems. They aren’t looking to create public demos. That said, if you’re a fund or family office and need a lightweight but robust way to manage your schedule of investments, you will soon be able to use Ledger+ 8090 built it for my family office to replace about $2M/yr in costs from SS&C and Standish. It now costs us $200k/yr and it manages billions of positions across many asset classes and types (funds, single stock positions, domestic, international, public, private, debt, equity...) so it’s been stress tested for a few quarters now and it seems to be working pretty fl…

This is why we built Software Factory. Human guardrails that are built thoughtfully and maintained accurately prevent drift and are crucial for production software to work over long time horizons. Otherwise it’s just vibe theater. Software Factory has replaced Agile, scrum, waterfall and everything in between. It’s a collaborative space where humans and agents work in a tight, synchronized loop to write exceptional PRDs, Eng Plans, Work Orders and then do the ongoing testing and feedback to keep it all in synch. This is the only credible way to rebuild and replace the trillions of lines of legacy code riddling every enterprise. Try it h…

A few things: (1) This isn’t the bad thing people think it is. (2) Thank you to all the VCs whose money is subsidizing this largesse to customers (we are one). (3) Not knowing the data, I can still guarantee that there is a huge bi-modal distribution on usage happening in Claude. A small group of super cracked devs use infinite amounts while devs at traditional companies use some/little. Overall, on a time-based cohort basis, I suspect positive margins are largely in tact despite a deep J-curve acquisition loop on some users (ie the super users). Anyways, as the CEO of 8090 who has to pay the bills, I thank everyone funding Anthropic for…
