the potential of the current moment makes me feel a little physically ill maybe it’s lack of sleep
the coldest company that may save your future 🧊
the construction workers of America do not want to only have the grey curve data centers are good for America https://t.co/s7e0rfEzFZ (@WSJ)
to make the “ai software factory” work, we need to be qualitymaxxing. every software product should have this running in the background in six months this will feel obvious
sat down with @patrick_oshag on Invest Like the Best to checkpoint the buildout of @Conviction (and the AI revolution)
I got lasik without the recommended drugs — so you’re just staring at the laser burning your eye staying still so you don’t blind yourself. Is this the right kind of hardo
I have the coolest early-career engineering job: working directly with cracked, generational AI founders on special projects. already has winning product in market at scale, and pure-good mission. can be based anywhere in the world DM something cool you've solved or made
really love and admire the founders we get to work with - glad to see them recognized by @TIME
super fun! some takeaways from @bryan_johnson hang: - Bryan is trying to change the norms around valuing life - valuing life should be a unifying (aligning?) belief for humanity - show kindness to haters - get the data to make better tradeoff decisions about your health - if you can focus on one thing, it’s getting RHR down - don’t accept defeat with disease incredibly like-able, mission driven religious leader teaching us to value consciousness with a sense of humor, curiosity and showmanship. also, build great things with AI!(thanks @baseten)
questions for my chat with the one and only @bryan_johnson? also — can I bring a glass of wine or will he just disown me in sad disgust
when introduced to @noahrshinn, @pranavreddy @mvernal @btaylor had already concluded “hard yes.” exciting! then I found out he wanted to do general consumer AI…daunting over lunch I was a convert. lucky to work w/ppl wiser and braver than me. love Noah & the Instinct product.
hot chips hot take: you can compress design cycles with ai but you can’t fix supply
2026 startup evolutions: we’re… a neolab! JK we’re a neocloud a product co! JK we’re a neocloud RLaaS! JK we’re a neocloud deployco! JK we’re a neocloud humandata co! JK we’re a neocloud where all these baby clouds gonna get wafers and powered land
people in software know so little about how chips get made example: emulators are room-sized fpga machines from Cadence/Synopsys that run the chip much faster than software sim, at real-ish speeds and boot actual operating systems so you can find more bugs before tapeout is there good content about this? should i make content about the end to end chip making process? people are so excited about alphachip etc. (cool work!) for ai floorplanning but it’s a relatively small fraction of the full workflow. a lot more to do
It’s HotChips week! about to interview @renehaas237 the ARM $SFTB.NE CEO for @NoPriorsPod. I’ll obviously ask him about the AGI CPU. what else?
"mismanaged genius" hypothesis clearly correct
boomer PSA to Gen Z: if you’re cold calling me for a job, please do not start your message “yo” this is a serious business, with serious people and money, and if we are not familiar with one another, based on that I am not going to hire you to represent the work we do
quite funny
from the union workers: the American dream requires growth and production, not just redistribution AI and energy are the economy’s productivity and growth engine. to be anti-datacenter is to be anti-labor https://t.co/Qm5kfjYPQH https://t.co/14lsR4UukE also - those in the comments, stop treating workers (and their union leadership) with paternalism making arguments “on their behalf” misunderstands their profession (it was never “permanent employment”) and ignores their agency to choose the jobs they want
@mhdempsey @timzaman better make friends with your inference vendors
@timzaman Hasn’t been true for CO’s outside of the big labs until recently :)
many great ai companies about to be desperate because their growth is limited by compute
many fears of ai progress are fundamentally borne out of insecurity around the relative preciousness of our skills each of us can continue to feel and write to the best of our ability (I intend to!) — but to value that pride above the abundance that is possible is a tragedy https://t.co/wu1LyEg3kA This is the writing of a lucky person who has never lost a loved one to cancer https://t.co/McXeh6A2Ld
Great advice for founders on references ⬇️
.@gabepereyra, the research team at @harvey, and their partners are giving everyone building specialized intelligence a clear blueprint for the huge performance and efficiency gains possible from post training and in-domain data and workflow understanding own your intelligence!
team chai is doing a full sweep of large pharma — really excited that all these companies are seeing impact from the models
.@tengyuma is an extraordinary researcher but also an amazing teacher — I am excited for the next company he starts :)
