Cloudflare is core infrastructure for the internet! Excited to chat about the internet in the agent age
Really amazing work being done by @jgebbia and the @ndstudio team to make government services a better experience for Americans https://t.co/lJwkclx9RJ
congrats @drfeifei @BenMildenhall and the talented team of shape rotaters at @theworldlabs
ICYMI, on @NoPriorsPod last week, @mjlee_2014 CEO of @seqholdings (which, along with @MichaelDell just announced a $7.7B take-private of insurance broker Baldwin) talks about what they're looking for: targets and teams that want to transform with AI also: where incumbents will continue to win despite the AI revolution, lessons learned from investing to operating, why a permanent capital vehicle, what they've learned from applying AI in a regional bank, and why "AI private equity" works better at scale
ok, I'm a stan, but @gradypb on an average friday morning is a clearer thinker than 99.9% of investors the antonym of slop
.@noahrshinn founder of Instinct, on - building maximum trust from scratch - why users give instinct their credit cards - agents buying things - how launch actually happened - making things that people are inspired to share - the role of craft in the age of AI - boiling tech down to its essential value - the end of apps and websites - his personal goals
@nichochar someone tell @karpathy he wasn’t any good, I guess
hardware-enforced security has long been a niche field (besides apple biometrics!) bc hard to architect, patch and develop for. big push from Nvidia (and partners) could finally change that - kudos on the effort. very cool safety as addressed by high agency people (who believe in engineering)
@RMladek much has happened in the last 4 months, and the information isn’t quite the mouth of god either 😆
please stop sending me your ai-generated decks. they smell like total lack of thought to be clear, the problem is not “use of ai” but instead 1) lack of original thought (bad goals) and 2) lack of ability to control the models to produce something actually good according to your goals (poor alignment) …and the models are still poor at clarity, brevity, emotion at @conviction, the single set of slides we have ever shown LPs were hand-crafted by me and @mvernal in default formatting on white slides. done overnight but distilled years of human thought/experience into an opinion not sure how to point model to something that specific, yet
@RMladek much, much bigger than that
@RMladek you’re very, very off on Baseten
@PrimordialAA @colossusmag 🤗
@baseten welcome Sheila!
@cgnorthcutt this is cool
@rtwlz 💜
@achowdhery unless you have a good inference partner like @baseten that deals with the supply problem for you
lack of power production in the US is a self-inflicted wound https://t.co/8yBLngrWR5 https://t.co/C8jSfbniMU
@halilbabilli @JensenHuang this was a new grad, 2y of experience.
@ajratner @SnorkelAI @insightpartners @S32_VC congrats Alex and team!
@nruman9 this was a recent cs grad.
@halilbabilli this was a 2023 college grad.
just got off the phone with a new engineer hire at a portco with a very wise insight “AI has been replacing my job since I got a CS degree, yet I’m busier than ever - we can all just be more ambitious” this is the same insight that the inimitable @JensenHuang has for us all
Users won’t be necessarily able to articulate it — but they are going to be increasingly frustrated when companies are holding back inference, restricting tokens naively at the cost of performance Once you have tasted the nectar of scaling tokens you just expect it
super interesting infrastructure security role 👀 https://t.co/bkfAcnE31I
rare is the team doing true architectural AI research these days. I talk to the extraordinarily broad and productive researcher Stefano Ermon about his company, latency, and why it’s still worth going after good ideas in the age of scaling
Friday thought: world totally underestimating “a country of geniuses in a datacenter” we’ve never seen this kind of aggregate intelligence. genius amongst humans is rare, human genius cannot work continuously, bandwidth is limited in human communication, and agents have no egos
surprise! New tech, new jobs https://t.co/dajd82xNJS You’ve been given free access to this story from The Economist as a gift. https://t.co/KkCjY0tofv
