the coolest (coldest) research team. go @LauraDeming! 🧊
really incredible work. gradually, then suddenly join/back teams ambitious enough to try and zero shot drug candidates, and you might get them
the backstory on @sundayrobotics
Sunday - The Helpful Robotics Company with @pranavreddy The first real project I ever built with code was a robot dog. Despite this, for an entire decade, I consistently told my investing partners: “Robotics is a great way to lose a lot of money over many years.” In the basement of Stanford’s Robotics building, @TonyZZhao and @ChiChengCC changed my mind. I think they will help change the world. Sunday is building general-purpose, autonomous consumer home robots. Nothing speaks like shipping – their first robot Memo, and their model, ACT-1, are state of the art in dexterity and embodiment, and in scene and object generalization. We are at …
I'm so so excited for @sundayrobotics unveiling today! I find it flabbergasting when people don't "see the use case" for consumer robotics. It's because they don't *really* picture them as autonomous -- they picturing a vacuum, not something that unleashes leisure and joy
the gemini catch-up feature on docs is actually good
I want to go back and learn everything after we have AI education so I can be smart Barring that, I hope Merge works stably before I die
@MKBHD can you dm pls
Some amazing founders start missing a little post-training…all sci fi and code and not enough RLHF from human interactions. In tech we over-learn “spectrumy = high performance.” Awkwardness at a party won’t kill you, but failing to understand recruiting as an EQ game will. People join because it feels like the right story for their life and they like the team. Treat it as a transactional optimization, and you lose the best people. Put as much effort into the emotional bear hug (make them feel seen, wanted, inspired, connected) as you do into sourcing, interviews and comp.
At this point I’m just watching @sundayrobotics latest vids every night, screaming Incredibly special company
Why are investors still backing new labs? VC's continue backing new labs for a simple reason: despite the importance of scale in this market, they believe the opportunity to create new experiences is not exhausted. Even as the known frontier consolidates around a few dominant players, there are still directions of capability that feel fundamentally different from what exists today. If a new capability (memory? multi-modality? EQ? continuous learning?) enables a different-enough experience, the way ChatGPT differed from search, it could generate its own gravity. This belief means investors aren’t only underwriting “better models,” but the pos…
😅 you're welcome, Sequoia

not an investor, but a @drfeifei stan. Marble extremely cool
took all of an hour for us to say yes
This is not me. I am not not this cringe. I am not going to ask you for crypto. Do not respond to this person. https://t.co/9qaUDtEAez
when I think about management in 2025 and what is considered “too direct”
A new law: no matter how much compute an ai company has, the researchers will always be able to use all of it 💸
saw into the future
Was awesome talking to my (deeply admired) friend @RamaswmySridhar about his first 18 months as the CEO of $SNOW, Snowflake intelligence, the future of search, the ads business model, change at scale and how every company is challenged to keep innovating in the age of AI
Really cool to see all the real agent deploys from big enterprise brands today at the first Sierra Summit! cc: @claybavor
an awesome first @SierraPlatform summit today! “the conversation is the interface” https://t.co/FRSZ5dHrEK *the multimodal conversation
congrats @ekuyda, one of the coolest and most creative thinkers I’ve ever met. you’ve made me believe in personal software - we should all raise the bar for what we expect from our tech
guys I am so pleased today so much of early stage startups is not giving up
ok, I know I’m the biggest stan — but amongst many lessons I have learned from @gradypb is that cynicism/selfishness is for losers, and openheartedness is for winners. believing in the talented people around you, assuming good intent, playing for your team - it is often enough!
sure you will @brainstub https://t.co/afUFvebTq8
Congratulations to my better half @gradypb, the new Senior Steward of @sequoia along with the wonderful @Alfred_Lin. Investing firms must be led by great investors. Sequoia’s motto at one time was “We are only as good as our next investment.” If that’s true, the firm is in good hands. Pat has the scary-good ability to identify both the phase shifts and the platform companies within them (ServiceNow, Zoom, HubSpot, Okta, Snowflake in the cloud era, Harvey, OpenEvidence and OpenAI in the AI era). He sets the gold standard for growth investing. Venture is an industry populated with incomplete information, high stakes, long feedback loops and …
getting pumped for demo day next week!
Leaders, like models, are contextual. Fun to meet Bartleby and talk with the sharp @TheEconomist team https://t.co/24RWMLQ1Cz https://t.co/byzG08Saki
