Overnight success, ten years in the making. Congrats to @seanduffy and the Omada team on their IPO. https://t.co/C130SKe5IB Omada was one of the first deals I did as an investor. They grinded it out for a decade. Well deserved. https://t.co/shWa02C3DY https://t.co/46o4Nf1PdP

Prediction markets are officially mainstream. And this means X could add crypto support. Proud to be in the seed round backing @shayne_coplan all the way back in 2020. An important technology for the world.
The dollar has already devalued by >100,000,000X against Bitcoin since inception. From 0.1 cents per BTC to $100k per BTC, in just 16 years. However, the next 10X will be…different. You should choose a jurisdiction that respects property rights and has not abolished the police.
Sympathetic to this argument, but a few points. (1) Minimum necessary legal innovation. First, just to clarify, new cities should not be "free of regulation." They should inherit the existing legal code, and just make a few very carefully thought through changes. For example, perhaps you set up a self-driving zone where all cars must be self-driving cars. But otherwise you keep the existing legal code. Just that one change — all cars self-driving — will have so many ripple effects that it'll lead to a totally different physical environment, and all kinds of new businesses setting up there. But you don't need to change the laws on (say) litt…
I love everything @karpathy has done to popularize vibe coding. But then after you prototype with vibe coding, you need to get to production with right coding. And that means AI verifying, not just AI prompting. That’s easy when output is visual, much harder when it’s textual. @karpathy The question when using AI is: how can I inexpensively verify the output of this AI model is correct? We take for granted the human eye, which is amazing at finding errors in images, videos, and user interfaces. But we need other kinds of verifiers for other domains. @karpathy Bingo. When it’s text, especially technical text, you need to read the citati…
Did you know suing US journos from the appropriate foreign jurisdiction means they’re much more likely to lose? It’s true. The Atlantic had to publish 16 corrections to a single article to avoid getting hit with a default judgment in Japan. https://t.co/zyBxa8sEXM Of course, you must have standing in that jurisdiction, and the journo must be lying, but these requirements are easily met in many cases (particularly the latter). More on the article with 16 corrections: https://t.co/c1xADKuweQ https://t.co/rDER6Aiw1o
Jason just visited Singapore and Network School, and we did a new podcast together. Coming soon! https://t.co/3V0oe4Jf8z Network School is a startup society that bootstraps other startup societies. There are now 100+ startup societies around the world, and the idea is spreading. We're building new opt-in communities, populated from the internet, where people vote with their feet to build their ideal society together. It's a refocusing away from the 2-party system towards the 1000-community system, where everyone can find their ideal place to live. Here's a few more photos of @Jason and me hanging out at NS:
Tech Fixes Things I regret to inform you that the journos are at it again. And this time they threatened our vendors. Of course, it didn’t work, because their power has fallen off a cliff...but a journo tried it anyway, and I thought you should know about it. However, before we get into all that, let me give some context. I, along with thousands of other people around the world, am now building startup societies outside blue control. Why? I can explain with one picture: 👆This is what blue governance looks like. Five minutes away from where I once lived, a rampaging mob of hundreds of criminals lit stolen cars on fire for hours — and the p…
AI is good for images, video, and frontend code where there’s some error tolerance and errors are highly visible. But AI needs to be carefully supervised for backend code where errors are not tolerated and invisible.
Most countries are small countries. More than 50% have <10M people. Almost 20% have <1M people. We've built social networks much bigger than that. https://t.co/IUGeHRLHfT
Only invest in UST what you can afford to lose.
Many countries that had a terrible 20th century are on track to have a great 21st century. And vice versa. Because history is running in reverse. Countries that fell to socialism and communism developed antibodies against ideology, and became nationalist and capitalist. After 1991 they were so poor, they needed to work hard. By contrast, countries that were capitalist and nationalist developed susceptibility to degeneracy, and have become weaker and woker. After 1991 they were so rich, they forgot the value of hard work. In this century, Eastern Europe is a better place to live than Western Europe.
Getting interest from US Treasuries is picking up quarters in front of a bulldozer. Standard & Poors downgraded US debt in 2011. Fitch downgraded in 2023 and Moody’s finally followed just a few days ago. https://t.co/oYtThpd6oH https://t.co/B6xp3i4CCN
SUPERBITCOINIZATION IS ALREADY HERE “Normal” inflation is 2% per year. Or roughly 0.2% per month. And hyperinflation is 50% per month. So, we aren’t there yet. It’s all fine! But is it? What if we define something in between? Call it superinflation. Say superinflation is 5% per month. In that case… BTC is up >110,000,000X since Oct 12 2009. That’s when the first USD/BTC trade happened. It was at <0.1 cents per BTC back then. Today it’s 5,701 days later. And we just hit $109,767.52 per BTC. An all-time high. When you work out the math… Over 187 months... That’s a monthly compounding rate of 10.41% Which means USD has devalued against BTC..…
Another day, another journo. Today it’s a guy named Ali Breland. He’s been spamming our members for months, because the oligarch Laurene Powell Jobs is paying him to write a hit piece on our startup society. Let’s talk about the specific angle he was tasked with writing about, and how our hard numbers completely disprove his journo rumors. Then let’s go through the general context of why he was assigned to write this fake piece in the first place. We'll end with the obvious observation that an Atlantic that abolished the police and bombed the Middle East actually has no moral standing whatsoever — and certainly cannot stop the free people…
The flag of technocapitalism. Inspiring. And completely different from the zero-sum hammer and sickle. Signifies transcendence, escape velocity, exponential growth, and relentless progress. This version is even better, for actually putting on a flag. https://t.co/1Xdy4VAjmV Better still! No limits. https://t.co/2RBuPiovTj Show me your color schemes. What best expresses the ideal of infinity? The real progress flag? https://t.co/ye2lOPd8sh
Startup societies are happening everywhere. See for example the video below from @ipecity in Brazil. Crypto is mature enough now to build fully digital governance. So they combined onchain ID (via ENS) with an onchain social graph (via EFP) with stablecoins to create a governance platform. This self-serve platform then enabled residents to build apps that benefited the community, from onchain crowdfunding to smart doors to p2p payments to a social marketplace. Most apps were built with @Replit and other AI tools in just a few weeks. I think this kind of thing is the future of digital public goods. It’s a self-organizing community building …

This thread from @dpoddolphinpro has details on the new city limits & vote results. Elon's side won 212-6. This is 97% democracy, rather than the 51% democracy of the legacy system. Because everyone who moved to Starbase was already spiritually aligned. https://t.co/FcFQD1ol1k @dpoddolphinpro Here's a video of Starbase, Texas. https://t.co/4o596A4ZR0 @dpoddolphinpro Democracy is about the denominator. With 6 for and 6 against You get a 6/(6 + 6) vote A 50% tie But with 212 for and only 6 against You get a 212/(212 + 6) vote A 97% majority So, denominator is everything. Vote with people who share your values. https://t.co/VNWZV90ZJm …
Singapore is winning. 🇸🇬 https://t.co/2WS2oi7Kjb Singapore has perhaps the world's best government. Only UAE is close. But expectations had been set to such a point for the party that built Singapore that even 60% support was considered low. They smashed it nevertheless with 65.7%. Onward and upward. https://t.co/Kn5qPwlD3P https://t.co/t16INBKzZD
The reboot will be from the Internet. That's what stays up even as civilization goes down. And that is why I'm Internet First.

Foreign direct investment in India is growing. https://t.co/NDfRdIYOFL India posted the highest growth rate in the world among large countries over the past 10 years. https://t.co/e4gmssQsTx https://t.co/VU18uhCwkj
The only thing journos do these days is write about group chats. In fact there’s actually a journo writing about one right now. It’s Ben Smith, the guy who published the fake Steele Dossier. He’s writing about a 300+ person group chat that I sometimes post in, along with a bunch of other people. One recent chat was with my friend @JTLonsdale. Now, Joe and I have known each other for 20 years, we’ve co-invested on many deals, and we broadly share the same values around freedom, capitalism, technological progress, and the like. But we did differ recently on the extent to which the US had tried to contain China. Broadly speaking, I think the…
INDIA'S VENGEANCE IS BEST SERVED COLD The single biggest mistake of the century was America's response to Pakistan-backed fundamentalist terrorism. And it happened in three acts. (1) First came Bush, the anti-terror president, who overreacted to terrorism by starting a giant series of wars. (2) This led to Obama, the antiwar president[1], who overreacted to war by starting a giant surge in woke[2]. (3) This in turn led to Trump, the anti-woke president, who is now reacting to woke by ending[3] a giant empire. And this whole series of events was due in large part to Pakistan. Because Osama bin Laden was based in Pakistan, just down the str…
We provided privacy-preserving, opt-in genome sequencing via @nucleusgenomics to members of Network School. Ethan found out the brain fog he’d had for years was actually due to undiagnosed hereditary hemochromatosis. Now he’s back on track. Better living through biotech. 💪

Just FYI, the US is a net food importer. So, has anyone calculated the impact of these tariffs on the food supply? https://t.co/31xcnDMYpU
Basically, American wokes weaponized shame and empathy. You were supposed to feel shame simply for being a man. To feel empathy for violent criminals. And so on. So, the American right stopped listening. And stopped feeling shame or empathy. Especially for those outside the tribe. But that was an overreaction too. Because most non-Americans are really not enemies. They're just neutral or even friendly business partners. And without empathy for their position, for the very real costs these sudden random illogical tariffs imposed on them, the American right won't understand what comes next. For example, they won't understand why the 190+ co…
I disagree, and here's why. Yes, America is indeed deglobalizing. But China and the Internet are still expanding. And those will be the two poles after the current era. The centralized state, and the decentralized network. The US set itself up as the hub of a global empire. But now it's exiting that role, and forcing every nation and business to cut ties. Just add it all up, across parties: - shooting CEOs - bombing Teslas - telling long-time allies to go their own way - pulling back the US military - proposing unrealized cap gains taxes - abolishing the police in blue cities - slashing student and worker visas - imposing tariffs on import…
