As countless U.S. retailers have lamented by way of reported earnings decimating purchasing power, you make a great point.
Interesting to define as “this week” a correlation dating back to 2011 of .89 between @truflation Core PCE & official @BLS_gov Core PCE. You’d make a great academic especially @federalreserve They too prefer data series that go back multiple cycles so as to “smooth” the results
Warsh, who is purportedly in search of alternative data resources, somehow managed to throw his weight last Friday around the lagged, imputed, and distorted Core PCE. Perhaps he’s not as open as he’d led us to believe.
Gonna get flak for this. Applying Truflation’s .03% MoM advance to July’s official core PCE settles the Dove-Hawk debate-the 2MMA rate falls to 1.66%; more importantly, 3MMA slides in at 1.79%. The correlation since 2011 between @truflation Core PCE & @BLS_gov Core PCE is .89. https://t.co/c9CE2HfkKh
Thoughts for the non TL;DR-ers? “This time, Washington skipped communicating completely, spent someone else’s currency to solve its own ally’s problem, and explained itself only after the fact.”
ICYMI. Destroyed infrastructure isn’t rebuilt overnight.
Correct. It’s the mid- and small-size investors who’ve swarmed the market in recent years care of “wealth coaches” who’ve sold the naive on the next ‘sure thing.’

Demographics is Destiny.
Masterful read.
Indeed.
Given downward preliminary revision in year ended March 2026, nothing surprises Official data: private sector ex-Edu/HC lost an average 45k jobs/months in 3 quarters ended Q1 2026 Warsh’s description: “On the employment side of the Fed's dual mandate, our country is doing well”
Hear, Hear.
This sounds financially literate.
She said it. And she’s right.

Sweet home appearance. Looking most forward to coming on @FINTECHTVglobal
Word.
The continuation of a very long trend that will eventually see TX unseat CA as the country’s biggest state economy.
Amen. “I would not read rising yields as evidence of stronger future growth. I see an inflation shock temporarily forcing rates higher while laying the groundwork for the demand destruction that eventually pulls the entire curve lower.”
When these fully reverse, the economy will be expanding for more than the top 10%.
Gotta wonder if Warsh’s preferred trim mean is crafted in the great state of Texas.
