Your attention is a valuable resource. Some people try to change your mind on a topic. But the easier method is to convince you to re-arrange your attention without changing your mind on any topic. Just get you to hyper-focus on one, and de-emphasize another.

@Bongo_King1 For those who thought the fork would succeed only to realize how little support it had, we covered this in our BCAP paper a couple years back. Influencers can distort the perceived popularity of a fork until the numbers hit. https://t.co/SPMwgcb8X9 https://t.co/5Yl95jAJuh

What’s really going to bake your noodle later on, is realizing that rate hikes are not nearly as effective at dealing with deficit-driven inflation as they are at dealing with lending-driven inflation.

A few common macro posts that come up over and over on this platform that you can mostly ignore. 1) “The Fed injected [X billion]…” That’s usually the Fed recycling their maturing securities back into more of the same securities. Or the Fed doing some repo activity, adding a tiny bit of liquidity that comes back out the next day. This year, the Fed is growing their balance sheet very slowly. 2) “The Treasury bought back [X0 billion] of government bonds…” The Treasury performing buybacks on its own debt is interesting because the deepest, most liquid capital market in the world shouldn’t need the issuer assisting with liquidity. And they c…

So the longest total eclipse on land in modern history is going to occur over the Valley of the Kings next year. That’s gotta be when the mummy wakes up, right? Since the 2020s haven’t been wild enough yet. He’s already stirring.

@GrassFedBitcoin @youngelonbtc @natbrunell Bitcoin Mechanic blocked me after this exchange, btw. I've always been cordial, even met him in person more than once over the years. People who have ideas to spread shouldn't be so fearful like this, imo. https://t.co/FQIv0N2DYC

Wait, you're telling me that running $2 trillion deficits, introducing new taxes on goods, and starting a fresh war in the Middle East, has not been effective at getting the cost of living down?

@walitysch1 @Puncher522 I’m not referring to Orange Juice. I’ve worked at a bitcoin venture fund for years, funding bitcoin-native startups. (And giving to nonprofits that help build privacy/freedom tech, too.) Private payment systems, Lightning infrastructure, wallets, bitcoin brokerages that serve as an alternative to multi-crypto casinos, etc. https://t.co/WTTceA4V2Y

@walitysch1 @Puncher522 Acknowledging the path dependence of how network effects change is not the same as liking it. That’s why I fund privacy tech, self-custodial solutions, and bitcoin payments. How about you?

Bond bulls don’t make arguments for why deflation is coming anymore. They just look at Warsh like this now. https://t.co/CRw1cNKNJv

In The Stolguard Incident, the edge realms are based on Nostr and related protocols, btw. Everything else gets highly censored.

@enur72 @Brandonwords @CorySwan @DylanLeClair Ironically, btw, the BCAP paper I referenced (which you don’t want to read because it’s two years old, even though it’s a living open-sourced document) examines and quantifies the politics that matter: contentious changes to consensus. You say others don’t care, or don’t understand fundamental concepts, when actually this is one of the more though economic+technical explorations of the topic of bitcoin “politics” out there. I cared enough to analyze this for months, deeply, with co-authors that filled the gaps in my knowledge. When drama like this come up, it’s not that I don’t care. It’s that …

The Stolguard Incident audiobook has full duet narration, meaning that every female line is voiced by @carlabitcoin and every male line is voiced by @WalkerAmerica. The actors knocked it out of the park, imo. Instead of one actor reading a whole chapter, they have like active conversations in dialog and it really dials up the realism imo.

Fable apparently disproved an 87-year-old famous math conjecture. Basically Good Will Hunting'd it. Imagine if there were certain unsolvable problems that, if solved, would let the attacker do immense damage. Anyway, totally unrelated, did I mention I have a sci fi novel.😉 https://t.co/e45JxQnaXc

Demographically, a lot of these founders/owners will sell their businesses. PE is the biggest buyer (seeking to leverage, cut, and flip), but another option is permanent capital, which can keep the business closer to what made it successful. 🍊

A few years ago in my August 2023 newsletter, I wrote about this. AIs being the only defense against AI cyber attackers. Seems we're entering that era. https://t.co/UjgvJYxnQv https://t.co/Hm4KWdZVi6

@donothedge @ScarcityMan I don’t assume people have bad intentions. I do think some of the marketing around it has been very misleading. Technically I’m mostly neutral on it, which is why I don’t bother to post on my actual timeline about it. Would prefer not to make LN Symmetry harder.

@donothedge @ScarcityMan I have no firm view on what size op return should be. And my level of concern for its size is low because all that content can still go into bitcoin anyway. People that are hardcore about this distinction tend to fall into one of two camps in my observation: 1) they care more about intention than outcomes (ie it still winds up in there, but only “unofficially”) or 2) they care a lot about making a government compliant coin (with the issue being that bitcoin is global and national laws frequently change).
