Let's tokenize everything. Tokenization is one of the best ways for countries to "raise money", or attract FDI (Foreign Direct Investment). Which country/company won't want to sell their (tokenized) stocks to everyone in the world? I support tokenization on all blockchains. While this creates the "fragmented liquidity" problem, it is the fastest way to grow the sector, with multiple players pushing. Fragmentation can be somewhat addressed if there is high interchangeability amongst different issuers, which is important.

Many people miss the bigger picture. Policy cannot be applied to only one company/project. What's good for one is good for the rest of the industry.

I mis-judged that. A few people mentioned it is a useful feature. @TrustWallet team saw this too. They told me there is a "Ignore coins" already, but it is buried 5 clicks deep. I assume they will make some updates to this feature soon. 🙏

Bitcoin surpassed 20.07 million coins mined as of August 2026, leaving only 4.4% more supply. I'd estimate 10-20% of existing bitcoins are lost/stuck/unrecoverable. It's a deflationary asset.

Not a great month for hardware wallets. Trezor disclosed a breach at its shipping provider affecting ~13.7K recent customers. ~11.7K had full name, email, phone and shipping address exposed. Trezor systems/private keys were not compromised. The leak directly links identities and physical addresses to known crypto holders, creating significant phishing, social-engineering and potential physical-security risk. Hardware wallets are often considered "more secure" than software wallets. While I still think that is "generally true" in a few specific aspects, this incident reinforces an advantage of software self-custody wallets (such as Binance W…

Why does Binance's market share grow so quickly in new sectors? Short answer: users. Some exchanges extract maximum profit from their users, max fees, some even trade against their users while offering 0-fees or 100% rebate to referrers. But they can't keep the users. Protect users = protect your future businesses, even the ones you haven't launched yet.

It is statistically safer to store coins on exchanges than to self custody. 👇 A few thoughts: Assuming the data is correct, my impression is Willy has always been a strong supporter for self custody. Hack data is easier to collect on the CEX side, usually major news. It is harder on the self-custody side, where hacks, lost coins, etc are often not reported. On the exchange side, some deceased exchanges drag down the data. Binance (and a few other exchanges) have always covered users for any CEX side hacks. Not saying one is better than another. Different approaches have different risk profiles (and product offerings), and may be better …

Banks could go ... well ... bankrupt. That's where the term comes from. I still prefer crypto.

Wrote this article in 2020 (updated in 2025). Talks about different way you could back up your seed phrase. A bit long, but worth the time to read. https://t.co/R8Cf1zIL0i

The thing is, with self custody, devs patching the bug won't fix previously generated wallets. And devs have no way to reach users on air-gapped devices. Your wallet stays open to hackers until you act. I'm a believer in self custody, but it puts the burden on you.
